Daddy Daughter Bowling
Today was a Girl Scout event - Daddy / Daughter bowling and I got to bowl with my two girls. Allison had not really bowled before and she was really scared and tentative at first. But as the video below shows, she warmed up to it.

Camp Constantin
Jason and I got to spend one cold night with pack 1776 at Camp Constantin.
We set up the great tent that the Lipes lent us as close as Jason could arrange to the Ferenczhalmy tent.
The morning started with a hike to the lake and back.
Then Jason got to shoot a bunch of things:
But his favorite activity was tree climbing.

Vacation at Primland
Paula and I got away for a few days at Primland without the kids (thanks Oma and Nana! (and Uncle David and Aunt Rhonda!)). After an enjoyable dinner catching up with the Kopps in Greensboro, we drove up to the resort the next day. I played some golf.
Paula was chauffeur and drove the cart over hill and dale. There were many beautiful views from the course.
Here's a shot of the hotel itself. They have smores available to roast on the fire on the back porch every night. Our room was the 2nd window on the right on the top floor. You can just see the round portion of the hotel on the right. The bottom floor is the golf clubhouse. The 3rd floor is the library. The top floor is the observatory.

Then did some hiking and sightseeing.

Jason's Shoe Concept
Earlier this year, we got to view some of Jason's work from PACE. I think this shoe design pretty much shows the inner workings of my 2nd grader's mind.
Sophie's sketch of a Minnon
Watched Despicable Me 2 with the family today. Our initial thought is that there are not as many classic lines as in the first, but it is consistently funny.
When we got home, Sophie pulled up a photo of a Minnon and sketched this. I'm impressed!

Cubscout Camping
Jason had never been camping before and I'm only a sophmore. But our first round of boyscout camping was quite enjoyable. We went to Camp Wisdom just south of Dallas last Friday night thru Sunday at noon.
When we got there, Jason wanted to explore the grounds and find our campsite by foot. I didn't know he likes to run so, so much. After about 1.5 miles of jogging around exploring many campsites, we smelt BBQ and heard voices and entered the woods to find our pack.
Here is our campsite
Jason's favorite activity was helping the other boys build a fort. Well, OK, his favorite activity was eating smores, but he could well have spent the entire weekend building forts and been very happy.
But there were plenty of other activities. Camp Wisdom has many camping sites with themes like castles, Sherwood Forest, etc. Austin and Jason explored the pirate vs scout ship battle site together.
Many of the boys couldn't wait to explore the "mountain cave" campsite. Mathis and Jason lead the pack over after fishing.
And of course in addition to the camp sites, there was shooting, fishing, and playing around to be done. Thanks Nathan for teaching Jason how to fish!

Baseball season
Beautiful weekend for baseball. Allison and Jason are both playing in a Sacshe league. Here they are on photo day.
Allison gets to play on the Tigers, the same tee ball team as her friend Reagan. They are having a good time together. They also seem to be enjoying the tee ball.
Jason got a couple hits today for his Orioles and got to score a run!

Copper Mountain 2013 - tubing
Let me start by saying that it is REALLY difficult to catch a shot of a tube going down the hill so fast!!! So, most of the pics are us just pulling our tubes.
Sophie's friend, Erin (and family), also got to join us for some tubing.
